Good location, friendly staff, good value Internet, able to mingle with other occupants
There were other guests leaving the shared kitchen untidy. The kitchen is closed & fully cleaned the following morning

The view, the kitchen and the quiet.
All great. Especially that they let us in before 2 pm as we were going to a wedding and needed to get dressed -we had an ensuite room.

We had a fantastic stay at a well-located accommodation with stunning views. The room was spacious and clean, with a mini kitchen and comfortable beds. The staff were welcoming and attentive, ensuring a pleasant experience. The hostel's common areas provided a lovely view of the surrounding mountains and Lake Wanaka. Despite a few minor issues such as cooking stoves not working and weak Wi-Fi in the room, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Loved the fire - created a real social focus for people.
The gravel outside was a bit silly - so noisy people walking past all day and night (ski storage etc outside dorms). Why not pave it so it's quieter? Sound proofing would be good - could hear individual conversations in next rooms, but you don't except super duper walls in a hostel!

Great value for money! I didn't have great expectations being a 'backpackers' but turned out to be very clean and cosy stay. Staff are friendly and the dry room for ski / snowboard gear is very handy! PERFECT if your going snowboarding. Close to the ski fields and so close to town.

Had a great Christmas at this hostel. Got two complimentary vouchers for breakfast, which was a nice surprise. The location was perfect! Close to all the main attractions and activities. The best aspect of the hostel was the friendly staff and their willingness to help with any questions we had.
There was a false fire alarm that went off at 11 pm, disrupting our sleep. , the free Wi-Fi was limited and very slow, making it difficult to stay connected.

Good location, excellent views of the lake and mountains. Big kitchen area. Clean and tidy.
Common area a bit small as were the rooms. Mattress very thin compared to other YHA' s. Came from the Franz Josef YHA and you wouldn't think they are the same hostel group, Franz was much more superior. Not the best YHA I've stayed at.

This hotel is a hidden gem with an unbeatable location right by the lake. The rooms with private bathrooms are a great feature, ensuring a comfortable and convenient stay. The midsize lockers with personal outlets are a thoughtful touch, allowing guests to securely charge their devices. Additionally, the variety of options for breakfast included is a nice perk, catering to different tastes.
All was good, nothing to complain about.
